Dr. N Laxmi, Assoc. Professor M.Tech, Ph.D
Dr.Laxmi Nakerekanti obtained PhD from Saveetha University SIMATS) Chennai,
India in 2024 and Master of Engineering with specialization in Embedded systems
with distinction from JNT University, Hyderabad in 2009 and Graduation from
Mahatma Gandhi Institute of Engineering and Technology, Hyderabad, India in 2006.
She has put up 12 years teaching and research experience, and published 16
international journals, 5 national and international conferences.She has guided and
evaluated numerous B.Tech and M.Tech projects. Dr.Laxmi has a Life membership of
ISTE. She is an excellent researcher cum human being devoted to the well being of
society.
Research Objectives
VCET has been emphasizing on Centre for Research, Development and Consultancyin various areas of Engineering
To carryout/monitoring any, consultancy project, including manpower requirement.
ï‚·To submit various project proposals to the government & non government
funding agencies.
To provide Technological servicing / repairs of equipment's to keep them in good
condition.
To create awareness of funding opportunities through Institute’s Research
Promotion Scheme.
ï‚·To provide a social setting to stimulate inter-disciplinary research among the
students – Undergraduate research schemes and opportunities.
ï‚·To execute MoUs with R&D organizations and Industries.
ï‚·To oversee publications of research articles/journals within the Institute through
(R&D Newsletter)
ï‚· Â Â To provide Technology Development and Transfer via patenting & publishing
book chapters (National/International)
ï‚· Â Â To initiate industry collaboration, interaction and Corporate Social Responsibility
(CSR) projects.
Research & Development Cell
The R & D Cell was established to promote and monitor the development in research ativities of the college. RD Cell motivates the students in research activies, by providing the required suggesstions and training. The R & D cell aims to nurture research culture in the Institute by promoting research in newly emerging and challenging areas of engineering technology and sciences. A special assistance is given to feculty member for writing research proposals if necessary. It encourages the students and faculties to undertake the research in newly emerging frontier areas of engineering, technology, science and humanities including multidisciplinary fields. This enhances the general research capability of budding technocrats by way of participating in conferences, seminars, workshops, project competition. etc.Â
 ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES OF RAC
- To review the research proposal and finalize the topic of research.
- To advice on thrust areas and disciplines for introducing research programmes and related activities for future development in research.
- To motivate the faculty members to register and start their research work and FDPs, Conferences, workshops publishing papers in SCI and Scopus.
- To create zeal amongst faculty members towards research and innovation.
- To guide the research scholar to develop the study design and methodology of research and identify the course(s) that he/she may have to do.
- To periodically review and assist in the progress of the research work of the research scholar.
- To Ethics committee to Check Malpractices and Plagiarism in Research.
- To provide policy guidelines and direction for the growth and development of research activities.
- To suggest measures for improving existing infrastructural facilities both for academic and sponsored research and enhancing research ambiance.
- To recommend projects and suitable for availing concession if any from State and Central Governments.
- To establish collaboration with other universities, public and private sectors and identify R & D projects including consultancy services which could be undertaken at the institution.
- To ensure smooth functioning and effective Management of R & D at the institution.
